In a small city in Japan, a company has a new boss. But this boss is not a person. It is a dog!

The dog’s name is Maru. Maru is a Shiba Inu and is 4 years old. He was a pet of the company’s old boss. One day, the old boss said, “Maru is very smart! Maybe he can be the new boss.” The workers laughed, but the old boss was serious.

Now, Maru sits in the boss’s chair every day. He wears a small suit and has a name tag. The workers say, “Maru is a very kind boss. He never gets angry!”

Maru cannot talk, but he listens when workers have a problem. If he likes an idea, he wags his tail. If he does not like an idea, he sleeps.
